The Lyceum Theatres are the home of the San Diego Repertory Theatre. The Lyceum is located directly in front of the Horton Plaza shopping center in the heart of downtown San Diego, on the north edge of the historic Gaslamp Quarter, within walking distance of numerous hotels and restaurants.
The Lyceum Theatre Space is the smaller of two theaters located at the Lyceum. The Lyceum Theatre Space is a 270 seat 'black box' flexible seating theatre. This theater is also a very modern venue but with far fewer seats and a more unique stage setting than its big brother, The Lyceum Theatre Stage.
The Lyceum is a feast for the senses even before the curtain rises. Its entrance, set in a sunken plaza just off Broadway Avenue, features vibrant tile mosaic, bright paint, and colorful oversized theatre posters. Be sure to set aside time before or after your performance to enjoy the Lyceum's rotating displays of local artwork. Hung in the lobby, the collections often have themes that match the subject matter of the San Diego Rep's current theatrical production.
